“During the heat of the COVID pandemic in 2020, Pastor Billy Arguello founded the Intentional 2020 ministry to share the gospel with those across the coast, jungle, and highlands of Ecuador. Despite the fear and uncertainty that consumed the world, his ministry sought to bring people sustenance and the hope of salvation in Christ, especially those in remote and isolated areas.
In December of 2025, I had the honor of joining Pr. Billy's ministry team as we traveled across 11 communities in the highlands and jungle. By the grace and glory of God, we were able to reach 1000 children across these communities, bringing candy, toys, and food, and sharing true meaning of Christmas. That is, the reverence of God's greatest gift to the world, Jesus Christ.
I was incredibly impacted by my time in Ecuador. Being exposed to the drastic differences in living and lifestyle amongst the communities in comparison to culture within the United States was humbling beyond words. Every child's smile seemed like a glimpse at the very face of God, and the gratitude expressed by all the community members imbued a true sense of impact.
In His Great Commission, Jesus said to "...go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age” (Matthew, 28:19-20, NIV). This is the heart of the Intentional 2020 ministry, and God was truly with us every step of the way during December.
Now, I have the chance to travel to Ecuador again in June, this time teaching Vacation Bible School for children, helping with construction projects that strengthen community infrastructure, as well as supporting local pastors & lay-leaders in the highlands. As part of my own ministerial and pastoral development, I feel that God is calling me to return to Ecuador and I could use any possible support.
In order to participate, I need to raise $2,200 for airfare, food, lodging, transportation, supplies & support for Intentional 2020's continued ministry in these communities by May 15.

Intentional 2020
Ecuador
Intentional 2020 serves communities in the Highlands of the Andes Mountain Range, the Amazon Jungle and the Ecuadorian Coastline. While their first focus is always in sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ, they also focus on the needs of the communities they serve.
The June, 2026 trip will focus on doing Vacation bible Study for kids and doing community construction projects in 4 different communities in the Highlands surrounding Mount Chimborazo. We will also look for formal and informal opportunities to do teaching and evangelism with the adults and youth.
Please, help us bring the love of Jesus Christ to folks in these remote regions of Ecuador! Far from any grocery store or even a bus stop, these small communities rely on agriculture and raising milks cows and sheep, often pooling milk into community cheese ‘factories’.
The adults have varying levels of understanding of who Jesus is and the importance of having faith in Him. The children are learning - principally through the work of Intentinoal 2020 and local pastors and lay people, each of whom shepherds 2-3 communities. The mission team will attend church with the Loma Gorda community in our first day in country and we will use every opportunity to share God’s love, through our work, our words and our prayers!
